Twisted Fork Key Lime Pie

Crust
  1. 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  2. 3/4 cup sugar
  3. 1/3 cup melted butter
Filling
  1. 6 egg yolks
  2. 1 cup of lemon and lime juice
  3. 2 cans sweetened and condensed milk
Instructions
  1. 1. Make crust by mixing three ingredients together then press into a pie pan.
  2. 2. Separate eggs setting the egg whites aside for later for the meringue.
  3. 3. Put condensed milk and egg yolks into bowl and mix. Then slowly add the juice while mixing.
  4. 4. Fill pie crust with the filling and bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.
  5. 5. Let cool and then refrigerate.
Meringue
  1. 6 egg whites
  2. 3/4 cup sugar
  3. - Beat egg whites to soft peaks on high speed.
  4. - Gradually add sugar when peaks are soft.
  5. - Beat to stiff peaks and has a glossy appearance.
  6. - Spoon onto cooled pie and form meringue. When happy with the appearance toast with flame thrower.
