Ingredients
- 8 cup water
- 2-1/2 cup white vinegar ( extra strength for pickling)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 Tbsp pickling salt
- 1/4 tsp alum.
Instructions
- 1. Bring the above ingredients to a boil.
- 2. Meanwhile, place garlic, cloves and dill in jars. (1-2 cloves, garlic and about 1 Tbsp of dill seed in each jar)
- 3. Fill with asparagus and pour boiling brine over contents and seal.
- 4. Hot pack for 15 minutes.
Notes
- 3 batches of brine makes 12 large mouth jars
- each jar holds approximately 1 pound of asparagus.
